NITROFURANTOIN 100MG TAB IMP (100S)

Description:

Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic used primarily to treat and prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible bacteria. It works by interfering with bacterial cell wall and protein synthesis, effectively stopping bacterial growth.

Uses / Indications:

Treatment of acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections (especially cystitis).

Long-term prevention of recurrent UTIs.

Effective against E. coli and other gram-negative/gram-positive urinary pathogens.

Dosage (General Guidance – Doctor’s Advice Required):

Adults: 50–100 mg every 6 hours for treatment.

Prophylaxis (prevention): 50–100 mg once daily at bedtime.

Should be taken with food or milk to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset.
